Years to Bear Fruit/Edible Qualities: Consume the red fruit's pulp & flesh but do not consume the seed to avoid a bitter taste. Most of our plants are already fruiting in seven & fifteen gallon containers. From seed, three years of growth can be expected before fruiting. Organically grown & cared for trees will bear many fruits per year.
Full Size: Average 5'-7' but can grow larger in a tropical landscape.
Cold Tolerance: Needs to be protected from tempratures in the 30s & from high winds
Light Requirements: Growing in filtered sunlight works best for a high yield of berries.
Drought Tolerance/Watering: If grown in filtered light, watering needs are reduced.
Soil & Site Requirements: A shrub often trained as a tree makes a perfect patio or container plant.
